Beginning on the Autumn Equinox September 21, join Amber and friends in movement ritual, a residency at Novotel Toronto Centre on the Esplanade. Monthly classes, each a signature misfitmethod class: GET SHIFTED, LENGTHENED, POWERFUL, ELEVATED, BE MOVED, RELEASED, FUSION, all the fan favourites until December!

Combining powerful and creative strengthening shapes with lateral openings and deep stretches, these classes are intended to be a journey. Offering a poetic way to connect to inner strength, open the mind, nourish the entire body by breathing slow, moving intentionally and consciously releasing tension that often builds within.

Where you'll feel it most: Full body vibrations united to strength and grace

Intensity: These classes are intended to be challenging, go at your own pace, modify as you need, listen to your intuition and take good care of yourself. You are so much stronger than you think you are.

Guest Teacher Julie D'Uva

Julie D’Uva is an event planner specializing in small gatherings. Her background in sociology coupled with her inherent curiosity of human behaviour informs how she creates meaningful experiences. After years as a student of the Misfitmethod, she was inspired to teach mat Pilates, to share the energy of what our bodies can do for us. A physical set-back with breast cancer put her life on pause, but with determination and a fire inside, she has rebuilt her body. She is honoured to lead others in movement and hold space for those facing adversity.

Guest Teacher Barb Johnston

Barbara (Babz) Johnston is a multiple Dora nominated performer, writer, director and choreographer. She is best known for her onstage persona “BABZ’; the host of multiple ‘one woman PLUS special guests’ variety shows including the annual Holiday spectacular “JINGLE BABZ & FRIENDS” and the critically acclaimed “BUBBLE BABZ: Songs from the Tub”. She is an active writer in the Canadian musical theatre scene; collaborating on multiple projects with some of the country’s most prolific Dora Award Winning writers: Anika Johnson, Suzy Wilde and Nick Green.Barbara has choreographed for hit TV shows ‘Ginny & Georgia’ and ‘Orphan Black’ and choreographed/assistant directed the Canadian premiere of the critically-acclaimed musical Dr. Silver: A Celebration of Life (The Musical Stage Company/Outside the March). Beyond her work in musical theatre and TV/film, Barbara is known for being a co-founder/director of WANNABE: A Spice Girls Tribute where has toured as Ginger Spice; performing to sold out shows across the globe for over a decade. She fronts country band ‘Love Hurts’ and portrays Gwen Stefani in the No Doubt Tribute band ‘Spiderwebs’.
